AN OVERVIEW ON SM GIFT REGISTRY




The SM Store recently launched Gift Registry Service. SM Home, Baby Company & Toy Express previously offered the service. Now you may register at any The SM Store branch and choose a wide selection of items.


SM Gift Registry


 What is Gift Registry?

This is a free service offered to customers for occasions like Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversary or other special occasions. It allows friends, families or spouses to hunt for gifts that a registrant wanted to receive.


What is the benefit of having a Gift Registry?

It takes the hassle out of selecting a gift since a guest may be able to see the list of gifts that a registrant wants to receive. This also eliminates the possibility of duplicate gifts, which is common in occasions like Weddings.


Why register at The SM Store?


1.)  10% discounts for guest with the use of Gift Cards.

2.) 10% discount on any purchases made by the registrant for a month.

3.) Free gift delivery for events registered in the area where the registration was made.


5.) E-announcements.  Allows you to announce an event through email. Together
     with the details of your Gift Registry.  

6.) Email Notifications. You will receive an email notification whenever an item   
     has been added or bought from your wish list.

     list then wait for the selling personnel to bring the said item to them. 



How to Register at The SM Store

1.   Register online or proceed to the Gift Registry Counter of your preferred branch and manually fill-up a Registrant Information Sheet. On the information sheet are all the details of the event you have. Once all the information is encoded has been encoded, you will be provided a username & password to access your account online. This is to see the wish list you have and to check if there has been a purchase made from your list.

2.  Once you have accomplished the form. You may proceed to choose the items for your wish list. Selling personnel from the said department will assist you on this.

3.   All the items selected will be brought to the Gift Registry Counter to be uploaded to the system. These items will be photographed and will be available online after 24 hours.  

4.  You will be given Guest Cards depending on the number of items selected. You may use these cards on your invitations. For the registrant, a Registrant Card which gives discounts on all purchases made for a month or so.

5.  You will also be given a Return Policy in case of duplicate purchase.



HOW TO AVAIL THE DISCOUNT

I. Guest

Invited Guest will have to proceed to the Gift Registry Counter. The guests have the option of providing the Gift Registry Code or present the GR Gift Card to avail the discount.

Once account has been located, the guest may now select one or more items from the wish list. A discount authorization will be given to the guest. This then is presented to the Counter.

 
II. Registrant

A GR Registrant Card will be given to the registrant. This is usually given a month before the event and needs to be activated. Activation is usually takes 2-3 days after registration. 


TIPS ON GIFT REGISTRY

  1. The best time to have an occasion registered is at least a month or two before the said event. By this time, the invitations should be ready as well. This is to make sure that all the invited guest are aware of your gift registry.
  2. If you registered online, make sure that you take note of your username and password. Your account needs to be confirmed by clicking a link, which you will receive on the email account you indicated. If you failed to access your email account your gift registry will not be activated.  
  3. It is also an advantage to make use of the e-announcement since everybody is online nowadays. It would be better to make a list of email addresses for this.
  4. You can also use your Facebook Account to send invites indicating that you have a gift registry.
  5. It is important that you inform your guests that they do not have to bring the Guest Card to avail the discount. All they have to do is provide the name of the celebrant or the Gift Registry Code. This is one of the common problems guests encounter with their wedding wherein some of their sponsors think that they have to present the Guest Card to avail the discount. Some bought items from other retail stores resulting to duplicate gifts.   
  6. Since the Registrant Card will take 2-3 days to be activated, you can make use of the Guest Card to avail the discount while waiting for the activation of the Registrant Card. Just make sure that the items you are going to buy are on your wish list.
  7. High-end gadgets like cellphones or cameras are excluded from the 10% discount but can be included to your wish list. The discount only applies to regular prized items and cannot be used in conjunction with other promos.
