Helping Others with Scraps

Some say that in helping others you are also help yourself. Years ago, I've met Aling Nelia, a mother of 11 kids. She collects scraps in our neighborhood. There was never a single day that I didn't see her smile. She has been very positive despite of her situation.

After learning that she and her family is getting their livelihood from scraps. I've started saving her the scraps which she can still sell rather than throwing them into the trash. This way I am able to help out without spending a penny.

I've also started asking myself what else I can give. When I look at my house, I've realized that I have too much clutter, stuff that I bought but I never used. So now, I am learning to keep it simple. Stop buying things that I don't need, and to give as much as I can for this is the very reason why we've been blessed.

Now, if you think that you can't help just because you don't have enough money. You're wrong. Complimenting other people, giving out encouragements, sharing your knowledge, giving out the things you don't need can go a long way.

Think of what you can do today.
